In the beginning was the one who is called the Word. The Word was with God and was truly God (John 1:1 CEV).

The above Scripture verse may bring in so much thoughts in our hearts, who is this Word that existed from the beginning? That was with God? And was truly God? His name is Jesus the Christ (Saviour or Messiah).

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice. From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:6-7 NKJV).

The prophet Isaiah foretold the coming of the Word (Jesus Christ) in the human form by stating that “The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this”. This prophecy came to pass in the book of Luke 1 by two major events, which is; the birth of John the Baptist (who prepared the way for Him) the forerunner who came through Zechariah and Elizabeth, and the birth of Jesus Christ Who came through the Virgin Mary. All these events were been orchestrated by the messenger Angel Gabriel (sent by God) who visited Zechariah the Priest and the Virgin Mary with the information of God’s divine agenda.

So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense. Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.” And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time” (Luke 1:8-20 NKJV).

Beloved understand that God’s Word never fails and it is ever sure anytime or moment. Trust in the totality of the Word and your life will never remain the same.

Believe God’s Word with the whole of your heart and your thoughts shall be established; for further studies, Read Luke 2; John 1; Gen. 1.
