When Jesus died on the cross to purchase complete redemption for us, there were five major points from where His blood was shed. He shed His blood (1) from the back when He was beaten, (2) from the head when He was crowned with thorns (3) from the hands when He was nailed, (4) from the feet where He was nailed (5) from the side when He was pierced. This is simplified to clarify God’s message of redemption; that complete redemption is now available to anyone who believes in Christ as the Lord and Saviour.

Then Pilate, therefore, took Jesus, and scourged Him (John 19:1). He was so beaten and brutalised that His form was badly marred (Isaiah 52:14). He suffered this so that by His stripes we may be healed (Isaiah 53:4-5).

When they crowned Him with the thorns, He was bearing our curses and taking them away, the thorns being the symbol of God’s curse on the earth (Genesis 3:17-18). Jesus was made a curse for us, so that we may be free from the curse and carry the blessings of Abraham (Gal 3:13-14).

When His hands were pierced, He was removing poverty, releasing prosperity and abundance. Your hand is the symbol of your economic prowess (Gen. 43:12, Deut. 12:7; 28:8, 12). His hands were pierced that your hands may be blessed (John 10:10).For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

When His feet were pierced, He was fulfilling a critical prophecy concerning our dominion over Satan and all his works. At the fall, God put an enmity between the woman and the serpent, and their seed. The serpent was going to bruise the heel of the seed of the woman, while the woman’s seed would bruise his head. Satan bruised Jesus’ heel at crucifixion. Jesus crushed his head on the cross of Calvary. Now, all who believe in Christ can walk in dominion over “serpent and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).

When Jesus’ side was pierced, the fountains of life were opened and His blood flowed to cleanse us from all sins and uncleanness. Now, by the blood of Jesus, we can be holy unto God (Zechariah 13:1).I urge you to take advantage of the complete redemption Jesus brought for us and become free indeed, to walk in dominion on the earth. It is well with you.
