Memory Verse: “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;” Psalm 107:2.

Bible Passage: Psalm 103:1-22

Introduction
The Godhead, by making man in their own likeness and image and a living soul, made it possible for Immortality to meet with mortality. Worship is one of the ways this happens. No other creature is endowed with such an awesome privilege and power.

The Redeemed

The truly redeemed soul will find prayer, praise and worship of God irresistible. In any event, the failure of sinners to worship God sets up an idol in the place of God, which then becomes an object of worship. A proper understanding of what happened at the cross at Calvary will cause a deep reverential worship of the Most High from the very heart of the redeemed, Ps.103: 1-4; Ps.107: 1-2; Rom.8: 15-16; Matt.6: 9. Christians are redeemed from the curse of the law, Gal. 3:13-14. And that is no small feat.

Body, Soul And Spirit

The unsaved, unrepentant sinner cannot worship the Holy One of Israel because he is spiritually dead. Only the living can praise the Lord – Is.38: 19. All living souls in appreciation of the mercy, kindness and grace of God cannot but praise the Lord. Examples are Mary, Lk.1: 46-55, Hannah, 1 Sam.2: 1-10 and Paul, 2 Cor.1: 3-4; Eph.1: 1-12.

Power in Praise
There is power in praises. King Jehoshaphat, for example, was led by the Spirit of God, chose praise as his weapon of choice to confront an intimidating attack by an alliance of three nations backed by heavy artillery. He won, 2 Chron.20: 14-22.
Paul and Silas worshipped in prison and their chains and fetters fell off, prison doors flew open, prisoners were set free and the jailor and his household were saved, Acts 16:25-34. The Lord Jesus Christ, while in the flesh always opened the gate of heaven with worship. His prayers were often preceded by the words “Father I thank thee….” And the supernatural intervened in the affairs of man on this side of eternity, Jn.11: 4-45. You can always worship to bring the Host of heaven to bear on present day challenges and come out victorious.

Conclusion
Christians are a peculiar creation and people, chosen royalty and priesthood and a holy nation, saved to show forth the praises of Him, Who has called them out of darkness into the marvellous light, 1 Pet. 2:9. You will, indeed, worship God in spirit and truth in the mighty name of Jesus.
