NO matter who we are, we are commanded to give thanks to God in any situation. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Psalm 150:6 “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”
NO matter who we are, we are commanded to give thanks to God in any situation. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Gratitude is an acknowledgment and a receipt for all the good things we have received from the Lord. We can never give thanks to God in error. Psalm 92:1 says, “it is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord.” The Scripture further declares that giving thanks to God is the perfect will of God for us in Christ Jesus, 1Thessalonians 5:18.

Recently, I sent some gifts to our Pastors. Three days after, I noticed that one of the pastors did not acknowledge what was sent. I called her to find out if she got what was sent. She apologised that she was just going to send a “Thank you.” From that experience, I discovered that “Thank you,” is an acknowledgment and evidence that we have received something or gifts either from God or from man. Our life is an unsolicited gift from God for which we must daily express gratitude for keeping us alive and for showing us unmerited goodness and kindness.

Romans 12:1 says, “I beseech thee, therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” The word of God commands us to present ourselves to God and Thanksgiving, is one of our reasonable services to God because we are all the recipients of His unmerited kindness and mercies.

A careful study of the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ shows that every critical time that He needed a remarkable, notable miracle; He simply gave thanks to God. To feed 5,000 men beside women and children, Jesus gave thanks for the insignificant five loaves and two fishes. As He gave thanks to God, what was inadequate became adequate and were exceedingly multiplied to feed the people, who were present in the desert. John 6:11-13. At the tomb of Lazarus who had died and was decomposing, Jesus lifted His voice and gave thanks unto God and Lazarus came b ack to life. John 11:41-42. Ten lepers were cleansed.

The one who returned to give thanks received additional blessing of wholeness. For all that God has done in our lives this year; we must give Glory to God. It has been said that those, who do not give thanks to God are great fools, but those who are grateful will always be graceful and their tanks will always be full. Isaiah 58:14: “Then shall thou delight thyself in the Lord and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” Gratitude takes you into higher altitude and places you in Supernatural platitude in this life.

If prayer, fasting and others have failed, try to give thanks extensively and continuously to God. You will surely experience His Supernatural upliftment. Do not be one of the nine ingrates, who did not come back to give thanks. Be that one that is appreciative of every good thing the Lord has done in his/her life.

PRAYER: Father, I come with a heart full of gratitude for what you have done for me till date. I want to say Big Thanks for all that I have received this year and for sparing my life. I want to say thank You for Your protection, preservation, provision and promotion. I give thanks to You, in Jesus Mighty Name. Thank You Lord.
