The Archbishop of Kwara Ecclesiastical Province, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev. Israel Amoo, has advised Nigerians to take solace in God at this trying period.

He also called on leaders at all levels to be faithful, loyal and honest in their services to God and to the country.

He enjoined Nigerians to participate actively in the 2023 polls to choose credible leaders to lead the country to greater heights.

The cleric spoke recently at Saint Barnabas Cathedral, Ilorin, Kwara State, when Bishops and the clergy of the Diocese converged to seek God’s face for Nigeria and the Anglican Communion.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, Kwara State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rt. Rev. Sunday Adewole, has called on eligible Nigerians to vote according to their conscience in the forthcoming elections.

The Bishop, Diocese of Igbomina, Church of Nigeria (Anglican communion), Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Adekola, in his sermon titled: “That Men Ought To Pray” taken from Luke 18:1, enjoined Nigerians to be fervent in prayers, shun injustice, abstain from sins and retrace their paths back to God.

Adekola noted that God honours the prayers of those who are not corrupt, wicked and selfish.

The Bishop enjoined Anglican faithful to intercede effectively for the Church and its leaders, saying prayers should also be held against the sudden death of any of its Archbishops, Bishops, their wives and the laity, as well as leaders at all levels of the church. He also called for prayers for 2023 general elections.
