The Bishop of Ondo, The Rt. Rev Dr. Stephen Adeniran Oni, has admonished the newly inaugurated Diocese of Ondo Christian Men’s Fellowship to launch out into the deep and let down their nets for a draught, just as Jesus commanded His disciples.

Oni said he was delighted that the chosen men were diligently appointed, based on their faith as Christ’s followers.

The Bishop, who took his text from Luke 5:4, thanked Primate of the Church of Nigeria, The Most Rev Henry Ndukuba, whom he said God used to initiate and inaugurate the first national convention of the Christian Men’s Fellowship of the Church of Nigeria in Ibadan between September 27 and October 1, 2021.

The climax of the event was presentation of the Diocese President, Executive officers of the Christian Men’s Fellowship and Executive officers of the Archdeaconries, who after taking the oath of office, were presented with certificates.

The first president of the Diocese of Ondo Christian Men’s Fellowship and retired Permanent Secretary, Mr. Steve Awosika, thanked God for the wonderful opportunity given him and his team to serve, noting that the privilege shall be fully explored in greater and better service to God.

The ceremony, which also happened to be the yearly Harvest of the Diocese of Ondo, was graced by retired Bishop of Oke-Osun Diocese, The Rt. Rev Fashogbon and his wife, among others

In his closing remarks, Oni restated his earlier charge that officers and men should redouble their efforts and devote their lives, time and work to God’s service.
