The voice you hear and choose to follow can give you direction in life. For some people, what they hear is the voice of their foundation and this can always cause them to walk in error so that they fall into the same negative pattern of their family line. In 1 Kings 2:26-27, we see the case of Abiathar, the priest, who had served David faithfully for so many years. Somewhere along the line, he connived with Adonijah, the first son of David to anoint him King instead of Solomon, who was David’s choice. David, therefore, moved him from being priest. Abiathar was from the lineage of Eli, the priest and this error of his was stirred up from the voice of his foundation that said none of Eli’s household would become priest in Israel.

A lady cried to me saying that her uncle was always dancing and running into the forest in their village.

Several times, they had to get him out of the place. In the course of prayers, it was discovered that he used to hear sound of drumming and singing inviting him from the bush. They were from idol worshipping family and so it was the voice of his foundation that was drumming and directing him into the bush. It would make him look as if he wasmad, but the moment he returned home, he would be normal again. This is the case with so many persons in life today. It is the voice of their foundation that is directing them to do what they are currently doing. Some go into prostitutions, stealing, wrong relationship and even business ventures that will put them into poverty and sorrow. The voice speaks limitations, stagnation, divorce, poverty and lack of progress in the family.

There is also the voice of evil counsel. The devil will bring people around you to give wrong counsels that can cause you pains and regrets in life. In 2 Sam 13:1-14, Amnon the first son of David had a cousin named Jonadab, who was very subtle and enviously wicked. Amnon had lustful feelings towards his step-sister, Tamar, and Jonadab advised him to pretend to be sick and request Tamar to attend to him in his room.

Everything worked out and he raped Tamar. The same evil counsellor, Jonadab, reported the case to Tamar’s elder brother Absalom, who plotted and killed Amnon in anger. Now, we see that the voice of evil counsel that Amnon received lead to his untimely death. So many persons today have received evil counsel that have destroyed their relationship, families, businesses, ministries and destinies at large. Psalm 1:1 says: “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly…’’ may the voice of evil counsel be far from you in Jesus’ name…Amen!

• O Lord, silence every voice from my foundation speaking against me in Jesus’ name.
• Every voice that wants to make a ship wreck of my destiny, shut up by fire.
• Voice of polygamy from my father’s house speaking against me be silenced in Jesus’ name.
• Every evil counsel ordained to cause me to walk in error, be cancelled by fire.
• Every power using the voice of any family to perpetrate wickedness in my life, you are a liar, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
