The present state of the church – Part 2

Now, what is a demonic doctrine? A demonic doctrine is a teaching that does not agree with the spirit of the New Testament Scriptures. Thank God, Bro. Paul said that he is a minister of the NEW TESTAMENT. Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. Thank God, one of the greatest apostles that ever lived was a minster of the New Testament. I am not ashamed to be a minister of the New Testament. I know that a lot of ministers are greater than Paul. That is why a lot of them are ministers of the Old Testament, with the ensuing confusion, bondages and death to the people of God.

Does this mean that the Old Testament should be wrapped up and thrown into the sea? No! Absolutely not! God wants us to interpret the Old Testament Scriptures in the light of the clear revelation of the New Testament, because the Old Testament is the New Testament hidden and the New Testament is the Old Testament Revealed.

But some may say the Bible says, “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Tim. 3:16). Yes. God wanted us to see the great doctrines and instructions of the New Testament hidden in the Old Testament. It is a great principle in the life of the Early Church. The most conclusive proof of this is the fact that the apostles, in their writings, refer constantly to the Old Testament to establish the truths they are declaring to the church, and numerous quotations from all portions of the law, the Psalms and the Prophets were used by them to confirm the doctrine of Christ and the Church. The revealed truths are in the New Testament teachings, but they can be found hidden in the Old Testament shadows and in this way, gives a great understanding of God’s plans and purposes. Therefore, all Old Testament shadows and types must be interpreted in the light of the superior revelation of the New Testament for the Bible says that God taketh away the first that He may establish the second (Heb 10:9).

Again, the Bible makes it abundantly clear that the New Covenant is not in the blood of bulls and goats, (which are types and shadows in the Old Testament) but in the blood of Jesus (Lk 22:20) Who is the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world (John 1:29). And that Jesus is the mediator of a better Covenant, which was established upon BETTER promises, for the first (Old) Covenant had some faults and a place was sought for the second (New) Covenant (Heb. 8:7).

Brethren, it is not God’s desire for us to operate under a faulty Covenant, but under a better Covenant based upon better promises, and as we enjoy the superior revelation of this New Covenant, He desires that we should see and appreciate the wonderful progression of Truth and the beauty of His plans and purposes hidden in ages past, but now REVEALED unto us by His Word and His Spirit, so that we can be established in the Present Truth (2 Peter 1:12). Halleluyah!! … to be continued next week.
