Exodus 14:13-14, “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever. 14: The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

From the rising to the setting of the Sun, the work of God has been outstanding, excellent, and incomparable demonstrating in all its ramifications, His ability and power to do all things. Divine intervention in any problem comes when all human efforts have failed to bring any positive answer. The impossibilities of man have solutions before God. From the acts of God according to Biblical accounts and even in the present day, what God cannot do, does not exist. God has in the time past given a reasonable proof that there is nothing He cannot do in order to help His people or showcase His power.

In the lead scripture above, the children of Israel were almost stranded in between the Red Sea and the advancing Egyptians soldiers to attack them and completely destroying them. The situation was immediately arrested by divine intervention when God directed Moses to raise his staff over the Red Sea to divide it to enable the Israelites pass through on a dry land. As Moses carried out God’s directive and instruction, the Sea parted into two forming walls on both sides. The people walked through the dry land into safety at the other side of the Sea.

Again on God’s instruction, Moses stretched the rod over the Sea as the Egyptians followed suit and the water closed upon them and they were drowned in the Red Sea. That feat has never happened before and even after till the present day.

In a related act while Joshua was fighting in the war front against the Amorites and the allied forces of five kingdoms, he requested that God make the Sun not to go down till the conquest of the enemies was completed. The then Israeli leader declared thus in Joshua 10:12-14 requesting, “Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13: And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.14: And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.” This is indeed another wonderful work of God. There was neither day nor night that period because of the work of God. The people were even surprised to witness the Sun shining all through without the night coming. That was the wonderful work of God. Power belongs to God and when He is set to do something no force is capable of checkmating Him; hence whatever He proposes, is carried out without hindrance.

In confirmation the wonders of God and the powers at His disposal the Bible says in Isaiah 44:24-28, “Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; 25: That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish; 26: That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof: 27: That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers: 28: That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.” God is emphatic in this scripture that there is nothing He proposes that will not be carried out to the last letter. There is no power in heaven and on earth capable of constituting an opposition to the work of God. Whatever He plans will always be executed with ease. Men are created by God and under His direction we are expected to fully depend on Him. Whenever God is called upon faithfully and in all sincerity and holiness He will give answers to the requests made unto Him.

The Bible says in Exodus 12:29-32, “And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. 30: And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead. 31: And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said. 32: Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.” God is fighting for the release of the Israelites from the house of bondage in Egypt at the same time taking revenge for the maltreatment of His people by the Egyptian taskmasters. The Israelites were subjected to forced labour, killing of their male children and taking their young girls for marriage without due traditional process. All these made the Israelites cry unto God and the intervention came. God started with plagues and released 10 different plaques to deal with the Egyptians. The last straw that broke the camel’s back was, the killing of all firstborn sons, including cattle, of the Egyptians. This last military masterstroke forced the adamant Pharaoh to let the Israelites go. He woke in the night, sent for Moses and Aaron and asked them to take all they have including their children, wives, old and young and leave the land of Egypt. It takes the power of God to kill all firstborn sons of Egyptians in one night.

The power of God in the Bible days remains the same even in the present day. That is why the Bible says in Hebrews 13:8,“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” The source of power demonstrated in Egypt, even in the Bible days, remains the same. Whatever is your heart desire, will be granted if you honestly and faithfully call on God. God is not partial, He answers every faithful prayer in line with His will.

Therefore, call upon Him today, present your needs before Him and your request will be granted in Jesus name.

Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing

How God Saved Me From Robbers — Gabriel

My name is Brother Gabriel. By the grace of God I am testifying on behalf of the members of the Lord’s Chosen from Benue State. We are grateful unto God of Chosen for delivering us from the hands of armed robbers. In November last year, we were coming for workers’ meeting in Lagos. Right from Benue State we boarded a vehicle and landed in Onitsha. And in the process of entering another vehicle that would take us to Asaba tollgate, we met this bus. We never knew that the people inside the vehicle were armed robbers. While we were going they diverted from the express and took another direction. The moment they diverted from the express, they started asking us for money. They told us to bring our handsets. That was when we knew they were armed robbers. Without wasting time, we started to declare, “we are chosen” three times, then, we asked the armed robbers who they are.” They were having all manner of weapons in that vehicle. The one at the front pointed gun at us, while the other one that was close to me stabbed me with knife but it could not penetrate into my body. Brethren, by the time we sang this song, “where is the God of my pastor’s power, deliver me today,” something mysterious happened. The vehicle suddenly slowed down and there was confusion. They did several incantations, but the vehicle could not move, as they wanted. The leader then commanded the driver to stop finally. When the driver stopped, they told us to come down. I said come down where? That we live in Benue State and we don’t know this location. Then I asked them to take us back to where they picked us. The leader was still saying that since they didn’t collect anything from us that we should come down.  They had no other option than to carry us back. I used the opportunity to preach to them but they did not care to listen to my message. They left us and zoomed off with their vehicle. That was how God delivered us. We are grateful to God for the intervention.
