Today, June 16, 2019 is the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity. We are celebrating today the fullness of Godhead. We are celebrating God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We are celebrating our Creator, Our Redeemer and Comforter. We are celebrating the Author of our lives, our Saviour and our Sanctifier. We are celebrating the Creator that was not created, the Redeemer that was not redeemed, the Sanctifier that does not need sanctification. We are celebrating the Three Persons in One God, the Most Holy Trinity!

God the Father: He is the First Person of the Blessed Trinity, the Creator of heaven and earth, the unmoved mover, the Most Loving Being the world has ever known.

In Exodus 34:6-7 He revealed Himself to Moses as the Merciful God: “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

He is the Ever Consuming Fire that cannot be consumed, the Mighty Man in Battle, the I Am that I AM (Exodus 3:2-3). When Moses wanted to know further concerning His true identity He told Moses, “I AM who I am. This is what you must say to them: ‘The One who is called I AM has sent me to you… the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He then added “This is my name for ever. This is what all future generations are to call me.” (Exodus 3:14-15). May this name be glorified forever in Jesus name – Amen!

God the Son: God the Father introduced Jesus as His Beloved Son: After His baptism “a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:16-17).

Jesus Christ is not just the beloved Son of God the Father; He is also the Only Begotten Son of God (John 3:16). He is the Image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). He is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). He is the Bread of Life (John 6:35). He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13). He is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5). He is the First and the Last (Revelation 1:8). He is our Saviour, our Liberator and Redeemer! And the name that is above every other name.

Our Lord Jesus Christ introduced Himself as a King with a difference. He told Pontius Pilate.

“My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” 37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king.

For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.

Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” (John 18:36-37). Indeed, He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. To Him be glory and praise both now and forevermore – Amen!

God the Holy Spirit: is the Love that exists between God the Father and God the Son. He is also the love that unites creatures with their Creator.

In today’s Second reading St. Paul declares, “the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:5).

The Holy Spirit is the channel of Divine Love. He is our Comforter (John 14:26); our Defender and Advocate (John 14:26); our Paraclete (John 16:17); the Source of our Inspiration (John 14:26). He is the Giver of our gifts (I Corinthians 12); the joy of our Hearts and the channel of our Salvation. He is everything to us!

To God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit be glory and praise both now and forevermore – Amen!
