Winners emerge In NASFAT, MSSN quiz contest

To foster academic excellence among Muslim students, Nasrul-lahi-li Fathi Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) has partnered with Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) to organise a quiz competition for higher institution and secondary school students in Nigeria.
The keenly contested quiz competition witnessed several dignitaries and participants in attendance. Ademuyiwa Toheeb Adetomiwa, who is a 200 level Medical student at the University of Abuja was the overall winner.
Oni Alli Atilola (Medicine and Surgery) and Omotoso Abiola Sodiq (Mechanical Engineering), who came second and third respectively, are students of the premier University of Ibadan.
Ademuyiwa was awarded a cash prize of N400,000 while Alli and Sodiq went home with cash prizes of N250,000 and N150,000 respectively.
The secondary school categories of the competition were contested by up to 250 secondary schools from different parts of the 20 local councils of Lagos state.
Kawlah Bello emerged overall winner, went home with a cash prize of N300,000, Mutmainnah Soremi came second and got N150,000 cash and Aliyah Bakare came third with a prize of N100,000.
The Tutor General and Permanent Secretary, Education District VI, Dr. Shareefah Yusuf, commended NASFAT and MSSN on their contributions towards education .
She thanked the organisers for creating an avenue to encourage students to showcase their talents. Lagos State University (LASU) Best Graduating Student, Aminat Yussuf, advised the students to have passion for the course they study and work hard.
“Your intention should be partly for the sake of Allah, so that every single thing you do, Allah is equally rewarding you. The essence of us being alive is to worship Allah.
“Regardless of the course you read, develop passion for it. Some students initially wanted to study law, but weren’t admitted, and they are successful in other courses they were given.”
