The success or failure of the November 16, 2019 governorship election in Bayelsa and Kogi states will depend on how the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), conducts itself. The seeming overvaulting ambition of the party to “capture” the two states, by all means, raises concern. All the states must not be in the ruling party because we are not a one-party state. I find it rather undemocratic that APC wants to take all the states because it is in power.

For the second time in four days, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed its Bayelsa governorship primary to between Tuesday and Wednesday in compliance with an interim order of a State High Court restraining the party from using direct primary.
