Dell commits to assist Nigeria tackle eWastes

DELL EMC West Africa, has disclosed plans to help Nigeria tackle electronic wastes (e-wastes) menace and increase women’s interest in technology through its "Legacy for Good 2020" commitment.

DELL EMC West Africa, has disclosed plans to help Nigeria tackle electronic wastes (e-wastes) menace and increase women’s interest in technology through its “Legacy for Good 2020” commitment.

Dell recently published its “Legacy for Good” report which reinstates commitment to people, communities, and environments where they operate. The Company intends to drive human progress by putting its technology expertise to work where they can do the most good for people.

Some of the highlights from past years include ‘Near Zero-Waste Manufacturing’, online betting which shows that in 2016, 99% of manufacturing waste was diverted from landfills.

According to Travers Nicholas, the general manager, Dell EMC West Africa, the Company, globally recognized for providing technology solutions, services & support, has reduced the average energy intensity of its product portfolio by 54% since 2011. “This is one of the ways we are responsibly managing the resources we use,” Mr. Nicholas said.

With the focus on Nigeria, Mr. Nicholas told Nigeria CommunicationsWeek that the handball betting tips Company is committed to tackling e-wastes through alliances with other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the Government and other international organizations.

He urged organizations to kick against gender discrimination and create a structure that supports women in the industry.
