In a move to strengthen Nigeria’s digital communication infrastructure, two leading technology organisations have partnered to expand secure cloud-based services across the country.
The partnership brings together the Galaxy Backbone Limited and Simba Infrastructure Limited to deliver secure, scalable and locally hosted Unified Communications and call centre solutions for organisations in both the public and private sectors.
The agreement was announced in a statement issued Thursday by the Head of Corporate Communications at Galaxy Backbone, Chidi Okpala.
Under the arrangement, Simba Infrastructure will focus on private sector deployment and tailored enterprise solutions, while Galaxy Backbone will drive adoption within ministries, departments, agencies and other government institutions.
Both organisations said the collaboration combines Simba’s expertise in customer experience technology and systems integration with Galaxy Backbone’s nationwide ICT backbone infrastructure, including Tier III and Tier IV data centres and a fibre-optic network spanning multiple states and the Federal Capital Territory.
They added that the initiative is designed to improve how organisations manage communication, customer engagement and internal coordination through secure, locally hosted digital platforms.
Galaxy Backbone, a Federal Government-owned ICT infrastructure provider, plays a central role in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem by delivering secure connectivity, cloud hosting services and shared digital platforms for public institutions.
Simba Infrastructure, part of the Simba Group, provides enterprise communication solutions including unified communications systems, contact centres and digital transformation tools for organisations across sectors.
The partnership reflects a growing shift toward locally hosted digital infrastructure, driven by concerns over data security, compliance requirements and digital sovereignty.
Director at Simba Infrastructure, Sanjay Vaswani, said the collaboration marks the beginning of a long-term strategy to scale locally developed digital solutions.
“Simba Group is pleased to mark this first phase of collaboration, with a long-term vision of deploying fully localized, AI-driven technologies that enable developers to build and scale using Naira-based solutions,” he said.
Profit Centre Head at Simba Infrastructure, Aminu Usman, said the partnership would accelerate digital transformation across organisations.
He said the combination of Galaxy Backbone’s infrastructure strength and Simba’s customer-focused approach would improve efficiency and service delivery.
“By combining Galaxy Backbone’s robust infrastructure and strong public sector presence with Simba’s customer-centric approach and technological expertise, we are creating a powerful platform to drive digital transformation and business growth,” he said.
General Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Regional Business at Galaxy Backbone, Abdul-Malik Suleiman, said the partnership aligns with efforts to expand secure and inclusive digital services nationwide.
He said Galaxy Backbone remains committed to providing reliable ICT infrastructure that supports both government and private sector operations.
“Our partnership with Simba Infrastructure strengthens our ability to deliver innovative, locally hosted Unified Communications and Call Centre solutions that will benefit both public and private sector organisations,” he said.
The partners said the initiative will enhance communication systems, improve customer experience and support organisations in streamlining operations.
They added that it will also strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy agenda by promoting local data hosting and reducing reliance on foreign cloud infrastructure.
