Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu has urged scholars to promote research, especially in the field of nanotechnology, as well as focus on researches that can lead to new and innovative products.

Speaking at the just concluded three-day conference on nanotechnology by Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Nanotechnology Research Group (NANO+), Onu, represented by Director, Science Infrastructure, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mohammed A. Umar, said Federal Government has shown willingness to support Nano+ in its research efforts, reason it established a centre that caters for nanotechnology research.

A professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at University of Ibadan, Mr. Aremu Olajire Adegoke, in his keynote address, titled “Nanomaterials Research: A wonderful world of great opportunities in Africa,” said nanomaterial was fast becoming a wonderful world of research in science and technology.
