The National Business and Technical Examination Board, (NABTEB) in its vision to become a globally acknowledged assessment body for craftsmen and technicians, has launched its e-learning and Information and communications technology (ICT) centre with a total of 300 personal computer installed to boost students, and craftsmen knowledge in the era of Computer Based Testing (CBT).

Speaking at the official unveiling of the landmark achievement by the Board, Registrar/Chief Executive, NABTEB, Dr. Olatunde Aworanti said the innovation by the examination body is to meet global advancement in information dissemination and e-learning in the education sector particularly citing the introduction of Computer Based Testing (CBT).

Aworanti who was, represented by the Director, Information and Communication Technology, NABTEB, Joseph Borokinni said the installation of over 300 Personal Computers with Internet facility has become imperative following the change to Computer Based Test (CBT) by leading national examination bodies in the country.

He Identified some of the purpose for which the computer systems will enhance the board operation to include, the need for full computerization of the Board s operations, communication network linking the departments (Local Area Network) and other field offices (Wide Area Network) as well as the check and reduce examination malpractices at centres to enhance quality and credibility of the Board s examinations.

He added that the E-Library centre is a cutting edge innovation targeted at improving knowledge of staff and student enrolled for NABTEB examinations as well as ensure that those certified by the board are computer oriented whether with skills in vocational and Technical Education.
