NiMet predicts cloudy, rainy weather for Monday
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted cloudy conditions with localised rains over Abuja, Nasarawa, Jalingo, and Lokoja on Monday morning.
The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO), in Abuja on Sunday.
The agency predicted localised thunderstorms over the high ground areas such as Abuja, Jos, Lafia and Minna in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 29 degree Celsius to 31 degree Celsius.
NiMet predicted that the Northern states would experience cloudy conditions over Sokoto, Gusau and Yelwa, while Katsina, Dutse, Kano, and Nguru will have thunderstorms in the morning.
It also predicted localised thunderstorms in the entire region in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 27 degree Celsius to 33 degrees Celsius.
According to the prediction, there will be prospect of weather activities due to atmospheric instability which will aid the cloud to build up thunderstorms and rains over the country in the next 24 hour.
NiMet predicted that the Southern states would experience increased cloudiness over the inland and coastal cities of South West with slim chances of localised rains over few places in the East in the morning.
It said that Calabar, Port Harcourt, Lagos, Oshogbo, Akure, Ibadan, Enugu and Awka will have localised rains in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 27 to 30 degrees Celsius.
