PlotWeaver, an innovative AI-powered end-to-end storytelling and film production platform, is set to revolutionise content creation for filmmakers, producers, and media houses across Africa.
By integrating AI-driven script development, production automation, and collaboration tools, PlotWeaver empowers African storytellers to scale their content globally while streamlining production workflows.
Founder & CEO, PlotWeaver, Oluwole Fagbohun, said the platform leverages AI to bridge the gap between creativity and commercial viability, saying it’s not just software but an operating system for Africa’s creative future.
Fagbohun said the platform is built with an understanding of African cultural contexts and storytelling traditions, providing tools that support scriptwriting, production planning, localisation, and IP structuring.
He said the platform enables storytellers to gain clarity, save time, and, most importantly, attract funding, saying the mission is to transform African content from being passively consumed to being properly valued, structured, and financed.
According to him, PlotWeaver will fundamentally transform how African stories reach global audiences. He said this will be done by reducing production inefficiencies by 40 per cent.
Listing the benefits, Fagbohun said PlotWeaver’s advanced AI technology provides suggestions, critiques, and improvements to scripts, ensuring high-quality storytelling; streamline pre-production, production, and post-production processes with PlotWeaver’s intuitive tools; enhance teamwork and communication among cast, crew, and stakeholders and enables African storytellers to share their content with a global audience.
According to him, PlotWeaver unlocks capital by generating data-rich production dossiers, ROI forecasts and market intelligence. “We’re making it possible for banks, governments and investors to back creative projects. That translates into more jobs, more exports and greater GDP contribution from the creative sector—one of Africa’s fastest-growing industries. The economic impact will be substantial. Currently, Africa’s creative economy represents approximately £4.2 billion, but it has the potential to grow to over £20 billion by 2030. PlotWeaver aims to be a key catalyst in this growth.”
He disclosed that PlotWeaver is set to launch in the second quarter of this year, with a testing phase scheduled for June in Ghana. The platform will be available to independent Nigerian filmmakers, production houses, and studios, providing them with the tools and resources to produce high-quality content.
“PlotWeaver is a game-changer for African filmmakers, providing them with the tools and resources needed to tell their stories on a global scale,” said Co-Founder of PlotWeaver, Olumuyiwa Ojo.
