SkillUpImo cohort 3 graduation holds Oct. 10

The much-awaited graduation of SkillUpImo Cohort 3 comes up on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre (EIICC), Owerri, Imo State.

SkillUpImo, initiated by Governor Hope Uzodimma under the Imo Ministry for Digital Economy and E-Government (IMDEEG), is one of Africa’s digital youth empowerment programmes.

According to a statement from the ministry, at the celebration of digital empowerment, the graduands, as usual, will get start-up kits from Governor Uzodimma. Each kit is designed to match the participant’s area of specialisation.

Dignitaries expected at the event include federal ministers and national delegates.

To qualify for the graduation, graduands met key requirements: achieved a 65 per cent mark, completed Cisco and Microsoft, finalised National Identification Number (NIN) verification and engaged in official activities.

In a live Facebook session, the Commissioner for Digital Economy and E-Government, Dr Chimezie Amadi, assured graduands that they would all be carried along in the activities.

Amadi further reminded participants of the vision driving the programme. “The governor’s investment in digital empowerment is a rare opportunity that demands gratitude and commitment.

By equipping young people with the tools to thrive in the digital world, the state government is laying a foundation for personal success and Imo’s technological future,” he declared.

With excitement building, the SkillUpImo Cohort 3A graduands will be joined by the recently upskilled civil servants, where they will be equipped with digital tools in an event that promises transformation, innovation and opportunities, opening the door for Imolites to shine on the global digital stage.
