Fusion partners Bamboo on social media investments for Nigerians
NIGERIA’s fastest-growing social media platform, Fusion, is expanding its ecosystem beyond community and entertainment by introducing investment opportunities for everyday Nigerians.
To achieve this, Fusion has entered into a partnership with Bamboo, an impact investing platform which provides innovative financing solutions to catalyze lasting impact.
For emphasis, social media is not only used for personal uses but is now playing a growing role in business and organisations, with entrepreneurs increasingly looking towards social media platforms to market their businesses. It is evidently becoming the case that investment in social media “is a necessity, not a luxury,” it is a fundamental instrument which should be used in any development plan.
Going by the partnership, Fusion explained that it will allow users to invest in global companies like Apple, Tesla, and Microsoft right from their mobile app, using naira.
Indeed, investing in stocks is like investing in companies and their leaders’ visions that you have confidence will grow in the future. Global investment adds a new dimension to diversification as one gets an opportunity to invest in leading economies of the world, and America is one of the fastest-growing economies we all know of.
Checks have shown that restricting one to only domestic markets keeps the investor’s portfolio’s concentration in just one economy. As one thinks of investing beyond the borders, investing in foreign stocks would provide greater stability in the portfolio through geographical diversification.
Indeed, Dollar investments, among others, enable diversification of portfolio and currency, growth opportunities, and a relatively more stable portfolio with US stocks
Further insights showed that by investing, for example, in American stocks, the investor gets the dual benefit of better markets and appreciating currencies. For example, the USD has been appreciating, on average, over the last few years. Whereas the emerging markets’ currencies depreciate over the long term. If the exchange rate moves in favor of the stocks you have invested in, you can earn some premium on your investment.
How to invest in Fusion
FOR years, investing in international stocks seemed like something reserved for the wealthy or financially savvy elite. At Fusion, the belief is that investing should not be a privilege, it should be an opportunity available to all, regardless of social status, educational background, or financial ability. The partnership with Bamboo makes it possible for anyone, yes! According to the firm, investments can start with as little as ₦5,000.
With the Fusion/Bamboo integration, users can:
● Buy and sell stocks of top global brands like Google, Amazon, and Apple.
● Invest in naira. No need to convert to dollar accounts.
● Withdraw earnings easily into their Fusion wallet.
● Enjoy a seamless and secure investment experience backed by Bamboo, a fully licensed digital investment platform.
Fusion as a lifestyle beyond just social media
FUSION has always been more than just a social media app. It’s a one-stop shop for community, entertainment, business, and now, finance. They’re big on educating users about financial growth, helping them break barriers, and offering them real value beyond just social networking.
Product Manager at Fusion, Olaide Oyerinde, said the firm is an entire ecosystem built on a social network. Currently, users can send and receive money, pay bills (airtime & data), buy tickets to events, and buy items from the shop on the app while also enjoying the regular benefits of social media.
Through engaging blog posts, interactive community discussions, and expert insights, the brand promised to ensure that every Fusion user (Fuser) understands the power of long-term responsible investing, realistic wealth building, and beating the high inflation rate at its own game.
The Fusion movement is live
According to the company, Fusion is open and ready to do business. Fusion said whether you’re a student, a 9-5 worker, or a business owner, the platform offers everyone a home to entertain, be entertained, and also make money while at it.
Growth and Virality Manager at Fusion, OrevaOghene Ben-Orupete, revealed that the product has gotten tens of thousands of users in the last three months, and the platform keeps growing at breakneck speed.
In his words, “There has always been a need for Nigerians to create a modern social media platform that caters to us and drives our daily lives forward. That’s what Fusion is doing for Nigerian creators and users. Creating a place for them to not just entertain others with their content, but they can also monetize it and their communities with so much ease. If you’re a Nigerian creator and you’re not on Fusion. That needs to change.”
