A tech firm, TD Africa, has graduated 400 young Nigerian women from its flagship TecHERdemy programme.
The graduation held earlier in April, marked the culmination of six months of intensive, hands-on training in Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Development.
The initiative, launched in November 2024, aimed to equip young women with globally relevant digital skills and create pathways to careers in technology.
According to TD in a statement, the event celebrated not just the academic achievements of the participants but also a larger vision of inclusion and empowerment in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
The event drew notable figures in the Nigerian tech industry, including the Chairman of Zinox Group, Dr Leo Ekeh, who delivered a keynote address celebrating the graduates.
Ekeh described them as “the pioneers of a new, inclusive era of tech leadership on the continent.”
He praised the resilience and brilliance of the young women, expressing confidence in their ability to make lasting contributions to Africa’s tech space.
He also called for more investment in inclusive digital education to accelerate progress on the continent.
