Emzor reaffirms commitment to women’s health, inclusion

Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has reiterated its commitment to advancing women’s health, well-being, and social inclusion.    In commemoration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, the company emphasised its dedication to providing high-quality and affordable healthcare products that address the unique needs of women.

Speaking on the IWD, the company’s Executive Director, Mrs. Uzoma Ezeoke, highlighted the critical role women play in societal and economic development. She stated that Emzor Pharmaceuticals remains steadfast in promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion through improved access to healthcare, education, and economic empowerment for women.

Ezeoke stressed that ensuring equal opportunities for women and the girl-child in education and healthcare is essential in building an inclusive and equitable society. She urged stakeholders to work together in accelerating gender equality efforts.

She reaffirmed the company’s investment in women’s health and its role in combating maternal and infant mortality through its extensive product portfolio.

According to her, the company offers a range of medications and supplements tailored to women’s healthcare needs, including over-the-counter and speciality care products.

As part of its commitment to public health, Ezeoke noted that the company has invested in the local production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), specifically four antimalarial drugs. This initiative is aimed at reducing the prevalence of malaria in at-risk populations, thereby contributing to a decline in maternal and infant mortality rates.

According to her, this makes Emzor the first manufacturer of APIs in sub-Saharan Africa, a move that is expected to enhance access to essential medicines in the region.
