Army officers’ wives have been enjoined to fully support their husbands in prayers and dutifully keep the home front well as their spouses battle to keep the territorial integrity of the country intact.

Mrs. Eno Edet, wife of Major General Isidore Henry Edet, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, made this known after a thanksgiving held to appreciate God for promoting her husband to the rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army, which took place at Enwang, Mbo Local Council of Akwa Ibom State.

Edet maintained that for army officers to focus on what they have been called to do, especially on the battlefield, there was need for their wives to keep the home front intact.

“Army officers wives have a full-time job because most of the time, our husbands are away on national assignments, being posted to different parts of the country, while we take up the role of fathers and mothers at the same time. Let’s support our husbands at all fronts. This is why they need our upmost support and prayers.”

She further implored army officers’ wives to be useful and find something doing in order to support the family.

The celebrant, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Isidore Henry Edet, acknowledged God and hard work as his secret of his achievements and advised the younger generation to always believe in God and not cut corners in achieving their destined goal.
