Five wedding guests die in Ekiti

The accident involving an 18-seater bus with registration number Ekiti LG 05 MUE was said to belong to Ekiti State Market women.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the victims were returning from a wedding reception when the tragedy occurred.An eyewitness said: “The vehicle was speeding and summersaulted several times immediately the driver lost control. I counted at least 10 bodies on the road before the arrival of officials of Federal Road Safety Corps.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, Caleb Ikechukwu, who confirmed the accident, said it was a lone fatal accident.He also said the injured persons had been moved to hospital for treatment while the dead to the morgue.
