Speaking during the Feast Day celebration of Blessed Iwene Tansi in Lagos, he expressed serious concern over insecurity and a continued spate of killings by Boko Haram insurgents.
According to him, it seems the government is losing control of security. “They continue to tell us that Boko Haram has been defeated, but we continue to see their activities,” he said.
He stated that the need to call on the international community to intervene in any area possible has become paramount to ensure that the persecution of Christians in this country comes to an end.
He said Blessed Tansi, during his lifetime, lived an enviable and exemplary life worthy of emulation, and that he also showed love to the needy.
“We should, as individuals, try to help those in need. Government must also be committed to the people’s welfare because there is so much poverty in the country. As for professionals in government, we want to see the fruit of their professionalism,” he said.
The chairman of the occasion, Ferdinand Mary Ejike noted that God created each and every one of us a saint, for He created no one unto damnation.
