The Federal Government has sacked the Executive Management of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company and directed the Managing Director/Chief Executive, James Olotu to handover to Chiedu Ugbo with immediate effect.
A statement issued yesterday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal, said the dissolution of the management is on the orders of the Federal government, and appreciated the services rendered by the disengaged officers during their tenure noting that “all Executive Directors of the Company and the General Manager Audit are directed to hand over immediately to the most senior officer in their respective Departments.”
It will be recalled that within this week, the erstwhile managing director, Olotu told journalists in his office when he played host to the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that the inability of Nigerians to pay for electricity consumed has continued to impede the operations of generating companies, pushing the money being owed the company to N99 billion.
