
According to the directive, the inclement weather was adversely affecting the ongoing work on the 124.8km road, making it impassable, especially between Km45 and Km50, for articulated vehicles conveying petroleum products.
Fashola also directed the contractor to concentrate on the Fadama section of the road, where a lot of earthwork was required, to further alleviate the suffering of the road-users.
He, therefore, appealed to the Niger State Government to reconsider the decision to close Bida–Minna and Lapai–Paiko roads to articulated vehicles, while construction is equally going on to decongest the traffic on Bida–Lambata road.
