A Non-Governmental Organisation, Community for Peace and Corruption-Free Society [CPCFS], yesterday scored President Muhammadu Buhari high in his anti-corruption fight.
National President of the organisation, Engr. Ahmad Zakari Nguroje said, ‘’Nigerians have seen clearly that the president’s coming to power was a divine intervention to stop the nation’s drift to disintegration.
He spoke in Abuja, at the sensitisation programme on anti-corruption and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians. Another member of the group, Prof. Deji Adekunle, restated that the president is on course in the change agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adekunle, who is also a Professor at the National Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, explained that beyond the corruption fight, Buhari has performed well on security and economy.
“This country was heading towards a bottomless pit, driven by corruption and insecurity, but God brought him as the agent of change to restore normalcy,” he said.
He asked the people to be patient and support him to enthrone the change we deserve. “As Individual, let’s ask our states and local government executives what they do with the federal allocations they collect monthly,” he added.
A Professor of Political Science from the University of Abuja, Sadiq Abba, enjoined Nigerians to dutifully examine the president’s anti-graft fight.
While lauding his ability in curtailing insurgency and blocking waste of public resources, he charged members to volunteer information on corruption to the relevant anti-graft agencies.
Other speakers, among them, Prof. Suleiman Mahmoud, urged the president to deepen the anti-graft war by reducing the cost of governance in the polity.
He said the sensitization programme was informed by the need to educate Nigerians across the 36 states and Abuja, on the need to embrace peace and allow the president to deliver on his campaign promises to Nigerians.”
