Waukesha Police Chief Dan Thompson identified the driver as Darrell Brooks, 39, and said he was not being pursued by police when he drove his red SUV into the parade Sunday.

“We are confident he acted alone. There is no evidence that this a terrorist incident,” said Thompson, adding that police believed the suspect was involved in a domestic dispute shortly before the incident.
