Waiting for God’s timing
Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He hath made Every Thing Beautiful In His Time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end”. Hebrews 6:12 “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who Through Faith And Patience Inherit the promises”.
Two important words seem to be missing in the vocabulary of this 21st Century of sight and sound, an ICT generation. The words “PATIENT” and “WAIT” are obviously not part of the usual daily conversation. Despite the fact that it was said that “Rome was not built in a day”, most people want their Rome to be built like yesterday. Even our Almighty Father God, structured Creation in sequential order and was not built in one day.
The Scripture graphically shows that “there is a waiting room” for those who have been called to do something of momentous generational significance. Some people think it is old school, “to wait upon the LORD” or “be patient” to receive what God has promised. Lamentations 3:26 says: “It is good that a man should with both hope and quietly wait for the Salvation of the LORD”. To wait patiently on the LORD is not an aberration.
It is a validation of our trust and faith in Him. In fact, waiting times are preparation, consolidation and incubation periods. God promised Abraham that he would give birth to a Powerful Seed Son Isaac, (through whom all the nations of the earth will be blessed). But Abram and Sarai, out of impatience, engaged in self-help and brought forth ISHMAEL, (a worldwide terrorist). Genesis 16:11-12 “And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name ISHMAEL; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction; And He will be A WILD MAN; HIS HAND WILL BE AGAINST EVERY MAN, AND EVERY MAN’S HAND AGAINST HIM,”
If Abram and Sarai had waited more patiently for the promise of the LORD, this world would have been freed from the global terrorism we are witnessing today. Saul the king was asked to wait for Prophet Samuel for seven days, but his impatience caused him the establishment of his kingdom. Those “who wait for” or “upon the LORD” ALWAYS GET THE BEST. David, Joseph and even our LORD JESUS went through “GOD’S WAITING ROOM” and they got to the places of their prophetic greatness. God promises at least FOUR POWERFUL things for those who wait upon Him.
(1) Psalm 37:9 “For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, THEY SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH”. You will inherit your prophetic land.
(2) Isaiah 64:4 “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside Thee, WHAT HE HATH PREPARED FOR HIM THAT WAITETH FOR HIM”. You will enter into “prepared blessings” that are beyond human comprehension.
(3) Isaiah 49:23 “And KINGS SHALL BE THY NURSING FATHERS, AND THEIR QUEENS thy NURSING MOTHERS: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for Me”. You will receive high profile assistance of kings and queens (men and women of substance).
(4) Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall RENEW THEIR STRENGTH; THEY SHALL MOUNT UP with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”. You will experience Supernatural renewal, strength and soar on high places of this life. There is what the Word of God calls “God’s Appointed Time” (Psalm 102:13).
God will never act too late or too early in your life. Friend, if you have faith in God, you will have to “marry Sister Patience” because “faith and patience” will surely inherit God’s promises. As you wait upon the LORD concerning your life and assignments, God’s plan for your life will be better accomplished.
Psalm 37:7 “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him”.
Prayer: Father God, I surrender to You today and I do not mind waiting on You Lord. I believe as you have said, those who wait upon You will never be put to shame. Amen.
