Director-General of the National Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Onuwa Abdulahi, has charged youths in the South East to eschew all kinds of crime and embrace Information Communication Technology (ICT), in the development of their businesses.

Abdulahhi gave the charge, yesterday, in Owerri, Imo State, at a one-day public lecture for the South East youths organised by the Youth and Civil Society Coalition for Development (YCSCD), in collaboration with NITDA and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

At the event organised for youths in Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi states, on advancing business and career using ICT, the agency appealed to the youths to jettison crime and embrace ICT in floating their businesses and depend less on paid employment.

Speaking, Convener and President of the YCSCD, Aminu Aminu; South East Coordinator and Chief Host of the event, Jecinta Chinedu Alfred; guest lecturer and Founder of Technocle Solutions Company, Joy Odinaka and consultant to the project, Anya S. Anya, among others, said the programme was designed to make the participants desist from social vices.

It was also aimed at embracing genuine option of making money by registering their businesses with the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) with a view to elevating their companies by combining Internet services and online platforms in boosting their businesses.
