Recently elected National Women Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Betta Edu, has pledged to uplift women and the party as the 2023 election approaches.

Edu, who was Commissioner for Health, Cross River State, gave the assurance at a reception held in her honour in Abuja by a top contender and former Director-General, Women Development Centre, Mary Ekpere.

Edu, who spoke in a telephone interview, assured the people of her willingness to work closely with Ekpere to uplift APC to an enviable height.

The Women Leader said she would keep an open-door policy to enable every woman, irrespective of age, religion and ethnic background, to partake.

“I must congratulate all the Nigeria women who stood by me to the extent that some stepped down to pave way for my emergence.”
