
Family members of the late social media influencer, Opeyemi Kareem, who was allegedly crushed to death by a truck driver, have told Lagos State Police Command that they are not interested in pursuing a case of manslaughter against the driver.
The Police had on Sunday, April 10, 2022, told The Guardian that justice would be served as it is not for the driver to determine if the brake of the truck failed or it was deliberate.
Kareem, the only son of the family was killed on Saturday, April 9, 2022, in the Ikota area of Lagos.
He was going to his office, when the driver’s water truck allegedly had a brake failure and ran over him.
Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Superintendent of Police (SP), Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the driver’s arrest, promised the Police will carry out a thorough investigation.
