• Urge commitment to love, peace, unity
Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has called on Muslims and, indeed, all Nigerians to continue to pray fervently to God for peace, security, unity and progress of the country.

Ugwuanyi, who made the call in his Sallah Message, congratulated Muslims as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

The governor wished the Muslim faithful the blessings and guidance of Allah, urging Nigerians to embrace peace, love, tolerance and sacrifice, which are the exemplary virtues of the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

He, therefore, prayed for a peaceful and pleasant celebration, stressing that the significance of the Islamic event towards the enhancement of peace, security, unity and progress of the nation is enduring.

SIMILARLY, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has sent his warm felicitations to all fathers as they mark this year’s Fathers Day celebration.

He has also sent congratulatory messages to Muslims in the country as they mark their Eid el-Fitr celebration.

Uzodimma enjoined the Muslims to take, seriously, the message of Prophet Mohammed that finds expression in peace, unity, love, sacrifice and fear of God in all their undertakings.

He congratulated them for successfully completing their month long fast and urged them to apply the tenets of their faith and what they learnt during the fasting in all they do.

The governor reminded the Muslims that Nigeria craves for their prayers in the face of security challenges and other problems threatening the unity, peace, love and progress of the country, pointing out that all the faiths owe the country and her leadership a duty to ensure that she lives up to everyone’s expectations.

He reminded the residents, particularly businessmen, women and traders that there is no sit-at-home in Imo State, hence the people should go about their normal businesses tomorrow (Monday) freely without fear of harassment or molestations.
