Nigeria lost its semifinal match yesterday evening to the Pharaohs of Egypt at the ongoing African U21 Men’s National Volleyball Championship taking place in Tunisia.
Despite putting up a spirited effort, the Nigerian team was no match for their Egyptian counterparts, barely penetrating the Pharaoh boys and eventually falling in four sets, 1-3 (33-35, 28-26, 17-25, 16-25).

The team would however have to put the disappointing defeat behind them and prepare for their third place match today, in the hopes of still coming home with a medal from the tournament.
The Nigerian side was outplayed almost from the start of the match, as their opponents gave them little breathing space, capitalising on their errors. It would be recalled that the Nigerian team had a tough time putting away Libya during their quarterfinal match on Friday, eventually managing to win in five tough sets.
Whilst the fatigue might have played a part in yesterday’s loss, they would have to restrategise, make fewer errors and play a tighter game if they are to win today.
