Ugwuanyi urges prayer for security and successful transition in 2023

• Enugu East thanks governor for acceding to zoning arrangement

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, yesterday, urged the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to pray for Enugu and Nigeria for improved security and successful transition in 2023.

Speaking at the 2022 Mega Prayer Rally of CAN, Enugu Chapter, with the theme, ‘Watch and Pray,’ the governor acknowledged the goodness and faithfulness of God to the state, and beseeched Him to heal “our troubled nation.”

He asked that God should fill hearts of people with love, tolerance and spirit of forgiveness. He wished CAN a spiritually and enriching prayer rally.

MEANWHILE, The people of Enugu East Senatorial District of Enugu State, led by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Mbah, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Edward Ubosi, the PDP State Chairman, Augustine Nnamani, members of the National Assembly from the state, the PDP Zonal Chairman, Enugu East Senatorial District, Nnamdi Nwafor, among other leaders across party divides, yesteday, paid a special ‘thank-you’ visit to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, at the Government House, Enugu, for acceding to their yearning that the governorship ticket of the PDP be zoned to Enugu East Senatorial District, in keeping with the rotational zoning arrangement in the state.

They also expressed appreciation to Ugwuanyi for the choice of Mbah as the PDP governorship candidate in the 2023 general election, stressing that the governor is a promise keeper.

Delivering their message of gratitude, the PDP Zonal Chairman, Nwafor, disclosed that their visit was to thank Ugwuanyi for the emergence of Mbah, from Owo, Nkanu East Local Council, in Enugu East Senatorial District of the state, as the PDP governorship candidate.
