‘Why women should intercede for their husbands, children’

The convener of International Women’s Conference, Rev. Carol Ighele has enjoined Christian mothers across the country to rise and intercede for their family members to fulfill their destinies.

Rev. Ighele, who is also the wife of the General Overseer, Holy Spirit Mission (the Happy Family Chapel), Lagos, noted that it is imperative at this point in time for women to seek God’s face and pray against banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminalities in the country.

“Whatever is common to women affects the men. If the devil strikes at our husbands, women will be in trouble. If the devil strikes at our children too, women will also be in trouble; so we need to pray for God to protect our homes, husbands and children,” she said.

Ighele spoke in Lagos at the monthly programme of the church tagged: “When Mama Prays” with the theme: “Rise Up,” while the text is taken from Romans 8:11.

The convener disclosed that God gave her the vision over 20 years ago to gather women and young ladies from 15 years and above to intercede for their husbands and children.

She said: “This is the reason we organise this programme, “Mama Prays,” every second Saturday of the month to intercede for our husbands, children, garner spiritual and also to pray for the society. ”

She also urged women to participate in politics, adding that women have leadership qualities that can uplift Nigeria.

One of the guest ministers, Rev. Fola Achumude, urged women to shun gossiping, backbiting, jealousy and to intercede for their husbands, children and also concentrate on praying for strength. Over 1000 women participated physically and virtually.
