Threatens To Shock PDP If Pushed To Wall
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has revealed plans to increase appointments of the Special Assistants on Political Units from 50, 000 to 100, 000, saying he wasn’t bothered about criticisms.
The Governor stated this on Friday during a media chat in Government House, Port Harcourt, explaining that the aim of the appointment was getting adequate information from the various polling units in the state.
Wike said, “The employment is part of what we promised our people, information is key but it is sad that we are not getting enough information from the polling units, so we need more information and therefore, we will increase the number to 100, 000.
“Unemployment rate is too much in Rivers State, this is aimed to tackle unemployment in our state.”
When asked how much he planned to pay the appointees, Wike said, it is not the business of the media to know.
