Plans bill for branding
The 2022 Greater Lagos Fiesta has been scheduled to hold between December 29 and January 1, 2023 after two consecutive years of break.
The fiesta was put on hold in 2020 and 2021 owing to Federal Government’s directive on COVID-19 pandemic protocols.
Meanwhile, as a way of ensuring that the yearly event has legal backing, the state government is considering sponsoring a bill at the state House of Assembly.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Femi Martins, who spoke at a conference in Alausa, yesterday, disclosed that not fewer than 10,000 entertainment enthusiasts are expected daily to participate at each of the five locations, which include Ikorodu, Badagry, Epe, Agege and Lagos Island.
Martins said: “It is heartwarming to inform Lagosians that Lagos State Government is to hold 2022 Greater Lagos Fiesta after it had been put on hold for two consecutive years owing to COVID-19 pandemic protocols.”
He said the upcoming event would not only have impact on young and talented artistes but also improve the economy of the state through MSMEs’ booming activities.
