Text: Matthew 24:15-16
December 25 is a special day in the world, as it marks the celebration of Christmas. This festival has assumed a centre place in churches. This is the abomination that “maketh desolate,” as contained in the scriptures.

Unfortunately, church leaders world over, who are supposed to speak against it, have rather endorsed Christmas as one of the scriptural commandment.

Today, Christmas has taken prominent place among so called Christians. Sad enough, proponents of Christmas cannot trace it to the scriptures.

Jesus, our perfect example, never celebrated his birthday while on earth. In fact, Christmas is not written in the scriptures. Jesus only commanded believers to remember His death, but not His birth. The foundational disciples kept to this commandment. But contemporary Christians have deviated from the standard laid down by Jesus Christ and the early disciples because of cowardice.

There are few strong Christians who are ready to stand for the truth and maintain the real standard of the scriptures.

Christmas was never the earliest festival of the church. This was the invention of modern Christians. Before now, there was divergence of opinion as regards the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is purely the celebration of the Son-god by the Romans and not the birth of Christ as claimed by the world. The picture that depicts ‘baby Jesus’ being carried by a woman is not actually Jesus or Mary, the mother of Jesus, because there was no camera during the time of Jesus’ birth to take such picture at Christ’s birth.

The fallacy associated with the birth of Jesus and the celebration of Christmas started with the story of Nimrod who was a mighty hunter. Men subjected themselves to him because of his greatness. He established his Kingdom through occult powers. He also established false religion. After his death, his wife Semiramis, got pregnant through prostitution, but deceived the people that she got pregnant through divine means and that the son she gave birth to was a reincarnation of Nimrod, the great hunter.

The baby she carried was erroneously believed to be ‘baby Jesus.’ This is how false belief and religion spread from Babylon to the entire world.

Obviously, Christ cannot be associated with immorality that herald Christmas. This fact alone will convince Christians that Christ is not involved in Christmas celebration. Christmas is unclean and must be avoided by all means.

The abomination that ‘maketh desolate’ has entered the church, but we must confront it headlong with the truth of the gospel because the truth still remains that Christmas is a mixture of Christianity and paganism. It is pure idol worship. Backslidden churches are those that celebrate Christmas!
