Buni warns Yobe youths against political, electoral violence

Yobe State Governor, H.E Mai Mala Buni

Mai Mala Buni has warned youths against violence after the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

According to him, politicians, and traditional rulers, including parents should caution their children and warn them against political violence and thuggery.

Buni gave the charge, yesterday, at Buni/Gari, shortly after casting his vote at the Ulturam/Yerimari polling unit in Gujba Council.

He expressed satisfaction with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) during the conduct of elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“I am highly delighted with the process, as the people are now voting in their ancestral communities,” he said.

He noted that the electorate in Gujba, Gulani and Geidam councils had been displaced persons, living outside their respective communities.
He, therefore, commended them for the conduct of a peaceful exercise in all the polling units across the state.

“I urge you to sustain the tradition of peaceful elections to protect democracy and good governance at all levels.”
