The Nigerian Navy, yesterday, urged Niger Delta militants to embrace dialogue, saying it remains the only way to reach compromises and concessions, as part of measures to address challenges facing the region.
The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Mohammed Garba, gave the advice during the command’s free medical service to Etegwe community in Yenagoa Local Council of Bayelsa State.
Garba said if they refuse to embrace dialogue, there is the tendency that they may not enjoy the sympathy they currently enjoy from the people.

He said the free medical mission to host communities in the state was part of the navy’s corporate social responsibility, to boost civil-military relations.
Speaking on the free medical outreach, Garba said it was one of the key priorities of the Chief of Naval Staff, for the navy to have a very good relationship with all stakeholders in the environments they operate.
