Buni pledges more human resources dev, capital projects in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has pledged the development of more human resources and capital projects in the state. According to him, the efficient development of capital and human resources are to boost service delivery in the various sectors of the economy.

Buni made the pledge, yesterday, in Damaturu, to thousands of Muslim faithful at the Eid ground to mark this year’s Eid el-Kabir. He said: “We should use the Sallah celebration to thank God and pray for more peace and development of our dear state and the country at large.”

Buni, therefore, assured the people that his administration would concentrate on more human capital and infrastructural development to improve the living conditions of people that voted him into office. He promised to promote self-reliance and job opportunities for youths to accelerate economic growth.

“I assure you of an open-door policy to allow everyone to contribute to the development of the state, irrespective of socio-cultural and political differences of the people.

“Every citizen is a stakeholder in the sustenance of peace and economic development,” he said. The governor, therefore, congratulated the state’s contingent to this year’s hajj and tasked them on praying for sustenance of peace with socio-economic development across the state. 

He urged the traditional, religious and opinion leaders to preach peace, for peaceful coexistence, adding: “I call on our youth to celebrate the Sallah peacefully, by strictly adhering to traffic rules and regulations.
 
“The security agencies are to ensure adherence to law and order for a peaceful and successful Sallah celebration.”
