A civil society group, Congress for Rights of Yoruba Nationalities (CROYN), has charged President Bola Tinubu to ignore political jobbers and fair-weather politicians but appoint patriotic professionals and technocrats to bring the country out of critical comma it had slipped into in all spheres of life.
The group said that only a renewed hope, which is the mantra or battle cry of Tinubu, manned by genuine and patriotic life-savers as ministers and members of strategic departments of government could save the country from coma and prevent it from further slipping into a hopeless state.
CROYN, in a statement by its National President, Abiodun Fanoro, said when countries found themselves in emergencies as it is the case in Nigeria today, they always go for their best and geniuses, irrespective of party affiliations, ethnicity, religion and other divisive criteria, and not professional politicians who were the architects of the dying state of the nation.
The group urged the President to note that foreign investors, bilateral and multi-lateral development partners and friendly nations were looking up to the kind of cabinet he would put in place to determine whether or not to heed his call for investment.
It also implored him to sustain the courage and boldness to stand alone and damn the consequences of turning down party leaders’ choices and imposition of ministerial nominees that could not help him achieve his pledges.
