Teased as the “cat-with-nine-lives” in the Nigerian music scene, veteran Nigerian singer Kcee is back with another stretch of his iconic comeback offerings – a euphoric blend of native flutes from the South East (Oja) and a frenetic South African Amapiano. Dubbed, Ojaginger, the fusion-focused record is the sequel of Ojapiano, Kcee’s recent golden comeback record.

Produced by Jaysynths, Ojaginger seamlessly blends the enchanting sounds of the Igbo flute with the rhythmic long drums of the South African dance music Amapiano. This unique fusion creates a mesmerising auditory experience that highlights Kcee’s remarkable delivery, ensuring perfect harmony between his vocals and the captivating beat.

Building on the success of Ojapiano, which garnered widespread acclaim and solidified Kcee’s position as a relevant voice within contemporary Afrobeats, Ojaginger is proof that there’s more room for innovation with the underexplored Oja sound in Afrobeats.

From his 2022 smash hit, Cultural Praise, to his Skiibii-assisted Dum Dum, and now the Oja-fusion series, Kcee’s ability to fight for new sounds and remain relatable to the ever-expanding fanbases of Afrobeats seems to be his recipe for longevity in the game. With each release, he continues to push the boundaries of his creative expression, infusing his tracks with a distinctive sound that sets him apart from his peers.
