Gunmen have looted and set ablaze the home of the traditional ruler-elect of Okwuru OrsuIhitteukwa in Orsu Local Council of Imo State, Ezekiel Nwokedi (Okwuruoha 1 of Ekuru, Orsu).
The victim, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Ekwuru Metals & Agro Allied Limited, Ebonyi State, confirmed to newsmen, yesterday, that items worth over N85 million were looted in his home.
The Guardian learnt that Nwokedi had been outspoken, condemning evil activities in the area, including looting of private and public property; setting ablaze homes of pro-government individuals among others.
Nwokedi, who also chairs Odinma Orsu Initiative, a socio-cultural group set up to maintain peace, unity and development in the community, appealed for assistance to replace the looted materials and urged security agents to bring the perpetrators to book.
At press time, spokesperson for Imo State Command, Henry Okoye, was yet to respond to the inquiry sent to him.
