The Council of Qur’anic and Islamic Schools, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider Abdulsalam Abdulkareem Zaura for Federal appointment to reward his support to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano.
A. A Zaura, as fondly called, lost his Kano Centra Senatorial contest to Rufai Sani Hanga of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) during the February 25, National Assembly elections in Kano.
Besides, the young business mogul equally floated a strong campaign and mass support team for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition in Kano, a project that swung massive votes for the president during the general election.
Making the case for Zaura while addressing journalists yesterday, the leader of the Council in the North West, Sheikh Mallam Habib Abdulhamid Yalo, appealed to the Federal government to compensate for dedication and commitment to APC success which Zaura epitome.
Besides, Sheikh Yalo emphasized that the senatorial candidate contributed largely, on several occasions, to the human and social development of youth in Kano and offered scholarships to hundreds of indigenous students to sustain their academic pursuits in the state.
The council equally cited Zaura’s significant contributions to Qur’anic and Islamiyya schools and the upliftment of the vulnerable population in his constituency. The leader of the council disclosed that Zaura’s philanthropic intervention has been extended widely and impactful enough across an array of needy.
According to him, “We want to draw the attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the need to give appointments to persons who deserve appointments in the state, such as A.A. Zaura who has made a difference and impact positively on the masses.
“We are advising the President to consider this individual who has demonstrated capacity when appointing people from Kano. We are the biggest beneficiaries of Zaura’s philanthropic gestures. He has done a lot for us by building schools, and classes, provision of learning materials, supporting the vulnerable and the grave yards to mention but a few.
“With him, we don’t go short of anything as we just forward our request and it’s done. He never neglected our needs. So, this is the time to also show solidarity to him. Of course, when he is given any position to occupy, is like that position is given to us and we will be grateful.
“We appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to compensate him. We also call on the immediate past governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to in his capacity as the APC National Chairman look into our appeal. Zaura deserves an appointment from the state for contributing his quota to Islam”, Sheikh Yalo stated.
