The Police in Rivers, yesterday, declared the gang leader, David Okpara, alias 2 Baba, for killing Superintendent of Police (SP), Bako Angbashim, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ahoada Police Division in the state.
The police promised a good reward to anyone with information that may lead to his arrest and prosecution.
The State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, had also promised to offer N100 million to anyone that will disclose the whereabouts of the gang leader.
Okpara and his gang allegedly ambushed, and killed the police officer in Odumude forest.
Speaking on the development, the security expert, Efe Wanogho, urged the police to review their strategies and ensure that the suspects were arrested and brought to justice.
Wanogho said the current situation was capable of dampening the morale of other officers and men of the force, and may also embolden other criminals.
He said: “The killing of SP Angbashim, will affect the morale of the team division in that area, and other security agents. It will be very difficult for them to go about their normal duties the way they used to because the commanding officer in the division has been exterminated. They may now work with fear.”
