Operatives of Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) have arrested two suspects alleged to be members of a child trafficking syndicate.

The two suspects, Babatunde Oluwasola, known as ‘Osanle’, 57, and Fowowe Dada, 47, were nabbed following a case of a girl that was reported to have been missing, but was discovered to have been moved to Libya.

According to the State Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Daniel Aidamenbor, one of the suspects, Oluwasola, had collaborated with Dada in transporting three girls from Akure to Libya in April 2023.

Daniel disclosed that the suspect, in conjunction with Dada, and an individual known as Iya Alaso, facilitated the transportation of one of the girls to Libya.

Aidamenbor said: “The victims who travelled through the desert to Libya called Mr. Babatunde through the agent that received them two weeks after their departure from Akure, Ondo State, to inform him of their arrival in Libya.

“The victim, a 15-year-old girl until her departure, lived with her parents in Akure. She had left without telling anyone about her journey.
