Police rescue 23-year-old lady from fraudsters in Lagos
The timely intervention of operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have saved a 23-year-old lady from fraudsters, who were holding her hostage in the Idumota area of Lagos.
The victim was held hostage after boarding a Volkswagen Vento salon car with registration number BDG 513 EJ heading to Iyana Oworo from Gerard Road, Ikoyi.
Spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, told The Guardian, yesterday, that the victim was forcefully taken to Idumota.
“The three suspects, Austin Okoro, 47; Godwin Asezour, 54. the ring leader, and Susan Elohor, 42, were arrested while on the diversion, attempting to swindle their victim by ostensibly introducing her to their alleged money-doubling business.
“The victim, however, sighted an RRS patrol team at Idumota and successfully raised the alarm to their hearing, which led to the prompt arrest of the suspects.”
